RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU THINK SUGAR IS ADDICTING!!!!!

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

IM MY OWN BEST ADVOCATE WHEN IT COMES TO DOING A LAB RAT TESTING ON MYSELF. I KNEW THAT SUGAR COULD MAKE ME GAIN WT. BUT DID I LISTEN TO MYSELF... NO!!ACTUALLY I HAVE TWO ADDICTIONS 1. STRESS 2. SUGAR. NO MATTER HOW WE TRY STRESS IS ALWAYS HITTING OUR BODYS 24 HRS A DAY! SO THERE IS NO GETTING OUT OF IT. I DONT CARE HOW MUCH YOU TRY ITS GONNA BE THERE. FROM THE SLIGHTEST LITTLE THING LIKE YOUR DOG IS BARKING, OR YOUR LATE FOR WORK. ITS AN ADDICTION, SEEMS YOUR BODY JUST CRAVES IT, LIKE SUGAR. SO HOW DO WE GET AWAY FROM STRESS? WE DONT! ITS ALWAYS GOING TO BE THERE. JUST TRY TO BE AWARE AND WORK WITH YOURSELF. SPEAKING OF SUGAR AS I LOOKED BACK ON MY JOURNALING I FOUND HOW I HAD GAINED MY 5_6 POUNDS BACK, IT WAS SUGAR. A COOKIE HERE,HARD CANDY AT NITE WHILE WATCHING TV, MY BODY JUST CRAVED IT!! BUT IM BACK ON TRACK NOW AND ONCE AGAIN THE POUNDS ARE COMING OFF.

It is important to figure out what the problem is and journaling sure does help. It sometime helps with the stress. You can talk it out!!! Enjoy your day!!! emoticon

Sometimes I hate to admit how addicting it really is. A story for you, one that I'm not especially proud of, but, proves a point. I was off sugar completely for about 6 week. Went through horrible headaches and just feeling like crap. Went to a summer party where there was the most yummy looking coconut cake on the table. I took a piece and ate it. Not sure what happened after that, it was like I was possessed. I took the WHOLE cake to my car and ate the WHOLE thing with my hands. Good thing I wasn't in one of those addicted reality shows, they would have put me away! Anyway, the point is, sugar is addicting and now several years later, I have much better control. I no longer crave it the same way and actually prefer a mango over a snickers bar. I still avoid coconut cake, girl scout thin mints and oreos at all costs. Good luck with your journey. You are not alone. HUGS!!
