So, as I said before, I am doing the hCG diet, even though some people have warned me against it. The first round I did I lost 25 lbs, and I kept it off! This is the 2nd round, after 6 weeks of maintenance where I didn't need a "Steak Day" at all or anything. So far, in 12 days, I've lost 14lbs! Not only have I lost 40+ lbs since the day that I started getting serious about my weight (November 1, 2010), but I've also finally gotten down to 200lbs!
The difference in my attitude, looks, and energy level has been phenominal! I am able to do more than I could before, the pains in my back and knees have gone away, and I honestly feel more refreshed when I wake up in the mornings. Sure, I have 90 more pounds till I reach my goal weight of 110, but when I look at that number, all I think about is how good it will feel along the way. It's one thing to look at the numbers and just get overwhelmed and another to look at the numbers and honestly know "That will come." And to be honest, I know that it will!
I went to go look at bridemaid dresses with my best friends Candy and Shannon on Tuesday and I asked the clerk if I could bring in my wedding dress in about 6-8 months to get it resized. I told her that the dress was a size 26, and she asked me what size I would need it changed to. I told her that I didn't know, but I should be fairly close to at least 120 in about 8 months. She gave me the dirtiest look! I didn't say anything, but when we went for lunch, I asked if I was the only one who picked up on it. Shannon noticed and then told me that if people didn't know me and hadn't seen the major changes that my body has gone through over the past 6 months, then no one would believe that it was possible. Realistically, it's true! I would never believe that someone has lost 50lbs in 6 months (I am 2 lbs away!!) without having surgery.
So, if things go just as they did before:
June 27, 2011 - 189
September 19, 2011 - 164
December 12, 2011 - 139
March 5, 2012 - 114
Then the last 4 will be with regular diet and exercise. (And yes, I have the loading days for one of the rounds on Candy's wedding cause I am smart-smart :) )
That means that I will have gone from 247 to 114 in 15 months! Of course, this isn't counting if I go over the 25lbs a round or lose more weight in between! To be honest, I could make it a lot sooner than that if I try hard enough, but I'm trying to be realistic rather than get ahead of myself.
I know that there are a lot of people out there that say that it isn't healthy to lose weight that fast, but these are also the people out there that watch The Biggest Loser and think it's perfectly fine to do that. To be honest, the body is a very interesting and myriad thing. Will it work for everyone? Probably not. I've just finally found something that works really well with my body. And the answer is, if it's working, and my doctor is more than pleased with the results, then I'm going to keep doing it until I am happy with my weight. And that's all that anybody should think of doing for themselves.
