Tracking Food

Monday, May 23, 2011

I am having trouble keeping my calories even close to my range. Today I was nearly 1000 calories over my goal! I didn't eat any "bad" food, but I just ate way too much. This past few weeks have been my first attempts at tracking food, and I am amazed at how many calories I am eating. It seems I am always hungry, but I am getting better at eating lean protein or fruits or veggies for snacks. I don't eat prepared foods. Any tips?

I drink about 9 glasses of water and LOVE protein! I usually have a small amount for each meal and snacks. for snacks I'll have cottage cheese and yogurt, apple and peanut butter, string cheese and wheat thins.

be sure to drink those eight glasses of water! I cannot believe how full I feel after getting the water; and of course, measure everything; eyeballing it just doesn't seem to get the accuracy a measuring cup does. i bought two extra sets of measuring cups at the dollar store so i have all sizes on hand. i also eat two to three cups of salad mix with an assortment of vegetables and some annie's dressing on it each day. also, don't do too much low fat stuff; fat gives satiety so you aren't as hungry as you are doing straight carbs and protein. and if you like coffee, try some of the low calorie latte recipes. you will get there! do not quit emoticon
