Quick Rally Recap - no pix yet

Monday, May 23, 2011

Since I had been to the 2009 convention, this was a chance to reconnect with friends and make new friends. To all who spent any time with me this weekend, thank you so much! I was able to take home lots of encouragement, kindness, and positive energy which were desperately needed as I came home to a house with a non-functioning kitchen sink and all the mess you can imagine which accompanies such a thing. But guess what I did not do? I did not go grab a handful of junk food! I did make a plan and start wading through the messes one at a time. I even decided to go to a church dinner since we had no way to cook and ate healthy stuff (grilled chicken and salad) with tastes of the goodies (chocolate this and chocolate that) so I was satisfied but not stuffed. Over the weekend I actually LOST weight - that doesn't generally happen!

I am thinking I need a private tutorial for yoga from Lee (SWDOTB2) to help with the stress. Last night I was sure wishing she was still down the hall because I would have been knocking on the door! But I did remember some of the mental tips she gave and that has helped immensely with my stressful life. Granted, many others have much more in their lives. I just don't always deal with mine so well and so I am grateful for her direction this weekend both at yoga and in life.

More quick thanks:
Beth (~INDYGIRL) Thanks for putting this together!
Greg (KSIGMA1222) Thanks for being my buddy this weekend!
Tina(HOOSIERGIRLINDY) Thanks for being the special lady you are!
Carol (ELSEEBEE) Thanks for coming even after your spill and get well soon!

I found the memory card reader so I'll get pix together eventually. First, I need a kitchen sink!

Hi! It was nice meeting you at the rally. Thanks for friending me. I have done likewise. It may take a village to raise a child but I need a whole bunch of spark friends to raise me up! LOL Sorry you had to contend with the kitchen sink. Hope it has been restored to working order. I love your cat he is so beautiful!

Just got home and thankfully found no disasters like yours! A great big emoticon to you for handling the stress of the mess! I hope the scales hold good news for me, too, when I weigh in tomorrow. The weekend was wonderful and I have so many good memories. I hope we can get together again for another Rally. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier you!

Sure enjoyed meeting you, going to lunch with you and spending time with you this weekend too, thank you for your words and I wish we were just down the hall because you know the door is open. Extend those exhalations, drop your shoulder blades down your back and let your breath out slow...ground yourself through your feet, and know you'll get through this... I hope you'll have your kitchen sink up and running free and clearly real soon and

WAY TO GO on not grabbing a handful of junk food last evening!!! Thanks for my yoga mat spark goodie and please find your personal yoga tip in the paragraph above from me to you, namaste'

P.S.

An inversion like putting your legs up the wall with your hips close to the base board is very restorative when dealing with stress. Try googling "Viparita Karani..." (see now you've got two tips today:)
