Last June I did a personal challenge... 30 days of yoga. It had a tremendously positive impact. I actually missed 2 days due to having a wisdom tooth removed (and not being allowed to fold forward is a wee bit of a problem for yoga...) I have been really slacking on my yoga lately in favor of more intense strength training. It's actually been about a month since I've been to a class. That's the longest by far I've gone without it since I started doing yoga last January!! I miss it and it does me so much good so I've decided I'm going to do the same challenge this June.
I thought "Maybe I'm crazy... I formally start triathlon training in June!" but last year I started marathon training the very same weekend so I can definitely handle it. It will get me back into the habit and keep me sane and balanced while I am doing my more intense training. There's a yoga studio near my house, and I recently bought a groupon deal to a studio near my work. I'm actually going to HAVE to get into a morning workout routine in the summer (otherwise it gets too hot to run) so I figure starting out my morning with yoga will be great. A new hot yoga studio opened up about a mile away. I'm going to make it to 2-3 of those classes a week, provided my face doesn't start breaking out again. I do really miss it.
I'll be making up a training schedule plan for this soon... I'll need to be pretty diligent about sticking with a schedule when I've got so much going on. My workouts need to be staggered appropriately.
TODAY though I am going to a yoga class. and I'm going to try to make it to 2 more this week too. I wont be starting on my every day kick but I see NO reason to wait until June to do a class!
