The Protein Barrier

Saturday, May 21, 2011

I gained one pound total in week one. On my weigh in day though I'd lost it and 3 more. This morning I weighed in and had gained the 4 back. I amhaving the hardest time with digesting all this protein. Or am I??? I don't know what the problem is. I'm eatin fresh, dried and raw fruits and veggies (5-7 a day). Drinking at least 10 glasses of water. Walking 10,000 steps a day and eating protein, that I've never eaten before. Is it just my slow, slow and I mean SLOW (I have hypothyroidism) metabalism or is this something that most of us go through or will go through? Genually need ya'lls imput. Have a wonderlicious day. emoticon

Some protein rich foods are also high in calories and fat, but your tracker should give you feedback to avoid that. I am not a big meat eater - a little chicken does it for me - so I get most of my protein from skim milk.

Don't let it frustrate you. Your body will settle in and adjust and the scales will reflect all the great work you're doing.

I have learned not to weigh myself other than once a week at the same time. I'm having a problem getting enough protein so I've bought some Weight Watchers Latte Smoothe powder to mix with my milk....get 10 extra grams of protein in my skim milk.
Hang in there.....we all have our ups and downs.

By the way....my husband has not got a weight problem (never has) but he does have a heart condition and because of that we do watch his sodium.

REDSHOE is right I have learned the same thing One other thing watch your sodium levels. You can track those as well on your nutritional tracker by adding it in. Your levels should be lower than 2300 a day.

Please don't weigh in daily, our weight isn't a static number and can swing during the week without doing anything actually wrong.. The weight gain is most likely fluids, it can be waste products.

I have learned to have a day once a week in the morning before breakfast, efter morning toilet visit and without clothing.. This will give you a weigh in without the influence of food, fluids and stable weigh over period of time..

If your protein is lean nothing to worry about..
