Well here we go again......

Saturday, May 21, 2011

So I've been watching what I eat lately. Nothing to drastic but small changes and I lost about 17 lbs (yay!). Apparently all good things must come to an end because I went back home for a few weeks and I blew my healthy eating habits out of the water. I haven't weighed myself but judging my the snugness in my jeans, I think I've gained some if not all back. I had plans to jump back on the health wagon when I got back to my apartment a few days ago but of course i didn't. But to my surprise this morning without even thinking, I found myself getting ready to go to the gym. I normally have to plan that! I'm not a gym bunny by all means and I literally have to drag myself there most times so todays impromptu gym session was a welcome surprise. It left me feeling like I could go to the gym without making a big fuss about it and eventually talking myself out of it like normal. My goal is to go again tomorrow when I first wake up because for some crazy reason I really want to!

I think I had the kick in the butt I needed when I tried out my dream job on thursday and realized I need to be in way better shape to succeed with it. It was 5 hours of shoveling, sweeping, hosing, scrubbing and squeegeeing. I know you're probably wondering what sort of dream job includes all of the manual labor. Let me just say it ended with me giving an elephant a head to toe bath : )

Your dream job sounds wonderful! I have never been to the gym, instead I workout at home and I still have to push myself some days :) emoticon
