Does taking Vitamins make you more hungry, than without them ?

Last July - Sept I started working out at the Fitness Center and lost about 11 lbs. I started taking a multiple Vitamin and have always felt that when I take vitamins I feel hungry all the time and crave sweets/and carbs more.I have gained all the weight back. ;0( My weight has been going up and down every other week at TOPS meeting. I'll continue the Omega-3 Fish Oil, but I'm going to stop the multiple vitamin to see if it helps me control my appetite.
I'm still spending 2+ hrs at the Fitness Center but am yoyo (ing) down 1 up 1 with no significant losses. Does anyone else have this problem or an answer to it?

    B-vitamins can sometimes make you more hungry, but the best way to manage that is changing to a few less carbs, which will cut back the hunger. And, make your carbs non-process, whole foods.

Also, zinc is one to consider as causing hunger. Zinc is actually used to increase hunger in anorexics. And, it can do so in any person. I have started taking zinc a few weeks ago (for skin issues and hair loss issues), and I do notice a distinct increase in appetite, as well as skin oils. But, the benefits outweight the 'side-effects' and I will continue using the zinc.

But, there are ways of cutting hunger other than cutting your vitamins, such as: fewer carbs, more fiber, more vegetables etc.

    Thats interesting. I just take B-12 vitamins, and I have not experienced anything like that.

    My dietitian has advised me how important it is to take all vitamins with a meal - otherwise they do not work properly and you get hungry. SHe also suggested taking them with breakfast. Hope that helps.

    I've never heard of this before, but I guess that it might be.

I know that many years ago, when I had a severe vitamin B12 deficiency, I got a lot of B12 by IV and my appetite increased, but at that time I was very skinny and run down, so the increased appetite was good.

    It has happened to me also,I had tried a new brand of vitamins and noticed I was hungry all the time and when I went back to my original brand the over eating stopped. Not sure why but am thinking it has to do with certain minerals in the one brand. I'm just guessing tho. Maybe compare the two and you might find the answer,or you could ask your pharmacist.
