One Bad Cookie

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Our store managers all got together and bought us phone service reps lunch from Panera yesterday as a way of saying "Thank you" for all we do.

Well they got us box lunches from Panera and it included a HUGE sandwich, chips, a giant cookie and a drink. I checked the calories on the chips and decided I would allow myself to enjoy them. I only ate half of my sandwich, and was satisfied with that. Then I got to my cookie. I debated whether to allow myself to have it or not, but in the long run I decided that I would and just make up for it later. So I ate it.

Then I was entering it in my nutrition tracker here on SP, and found out that one cookie had almost 500 calories in it. It was the Toffee Nut cookie. While it was tasty, it was not worth it.

So I guess the moral of my story is to know exactly what you are shoving in your mouth before you do it. That way there is no remorse later.

Yes, I have been doing well and understand the importance of tracking food. If it were me that ate the cookie I would probably have gone on some kind of binge. I have a very hard time adjusting when I eat things that I do not plan. I am going to have my official weigh in today and should be down five to seven pounds. I realize that I need to live my life and enjoy myself but I still have to be very diligent with tracking food.
