I've lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks.

    Hi Tim. I just listened to some of your v-blogs. The best thing is to try not to weigh youself every day, but if you do, weigh just first thing in the AM. Our PM weights are always higher because of water fluxuations. Don't do that to yourself.

So many of us here struggle with sugar, carbs (same thing) and basic discouragement. We must keep trying no matter what so that we can have the happy, healthy lives that we were meant to have. Be kind to yourself the way you would if you had a child with the problems that you have and treat yourself the same way. . . with caring and love and ever vigilent that you are doing all you can to be healthy.

I have the same sugar addiction. I have actually found that honey is a great substitute.

    Way to go Tim, keep it up!
I think that sugar can be one of the hardest things to give up!!!
Try making things you would usually make with sugar with Splenda.. once you get over the initial taste test, it gets easier...

    You nailed it on the head. Woohoo! Keep it up, Tim. You are doing awesome. Yes, I totally agree if you haven't figured it out already. lol. Yes, weigh in the mornings you are lighter than.     Great job on the loss this week!! Fantastic! I totally feel your struggle on giving up sugar. I swear it's easier to quick smoking or alcohol.

    hey there sparks friend !
glad to see a post, was happy to hear you lost 4lbs, congrats ! :)
but to one friend from another friend... you really need to make a commitment to yourself and lay off that sugar, i know it is hard, but there is sugarfree foods that you can eat besides the sugar things... weightwatchers has all sorts of choc.and candy, there is splenda for putting it in your iced tea or coffee ect..
and sugarfree puddings, jello, ice cream, and you know the list goes on and on...
sugar will just spike your hunger, and will make you want to over eat. try some of these sugarfree products, they are good and you will see the results from the changes you are making... i not preaching at you, 4 lbs is great, i 'm just here to give you some advice like a sparks friend should ! ok :) have a good week and keep us posted on how you are doing.. hugs... :)

    Oh Tim---I am SO happy to see your blog---- I lost you for a bit---- My weight is as much as 3-5 pounds up in the evening-back down in the morning--- See? You are normal!---- Keep working on the sugar as the craving will go--just takes time!--Like Florence says, try some sweetner--Oh Tim--You are doing this!--When you get to your goal, I want to meet you---- and I am old--LOL--But--I have to meet a person thaty has done this!---- Hang in here --Lynda (AKA-leanjean6)

as you do with out sugar, it gets better. You can use a sugar substitute. I do.

    I know what you mean about giving up sugar. It is very hard. I have to really watch it or go cold turkey or I'm into EVERYTHING chocolate and sweet.

I also feel your pain on the scale. Mine does the same thing, but only by 3-4 pounds. I think it is because we have been fasting for the morning weigh-in. I like your idea of divorcing the scale except for once a week. Otherwise it becomes an unhealthy obsession just trying to get it to move.

    Good job Tim. Keep working and try relying less on the scale. Do your stuff you are supposed to do, and do that once a week thing. You might find it more rewarding or less confusing.

I know what you mean about the scale. I am obsessed with it, and trying not to get on it as much. I'm trying to focus more on my health and keeping my blood sugar numbers in control...But of course I want to lose weight, too :)
