FIRE!!! Second Vlog

Saturday, May 14, 2011

So we had a fire here at my house this week and this vlog is about the lessons learned from the whole experience. We're all ok, the house is ok, but it was a sobering experience on a couple of levels.

Great reminder about how everyday life can suddenly crash through the door with something major. Very glad you were able to contain the fire, and even more gratified by how your neighborhood responded for you guys. It's so heartwarming when something bad turns into something that becomes a huge blessing.

You remain very inspiring and motivational. Bravo!

I started a grease fire when I was 27...my entire kitchen was in flames...I couldn't move...and it taught me...you never know what you would in ANY situation...as much I thought I would know what to do...in that moment, I couldn't think...I am happy that you are safe and that nothing was too damaged :)
Glad you didn't beat yourself up about not tracking...and happy that you are back on track...we all have times that food and exercise should not be the priority...
and I will definitely check my vents! Thank you for sharing!!!

    WOW!
How strong you are! To go through all that, fall off the wagon, and get back on after only a day.
When I fell off the wagon, I felt I had completely lost the war. Once we realize we have only lost a battle, not the whole war, helped me to focus on my goals instead of the twilight zone things that had happened.
I am 61 now. I think I learned that about 20 years ago. Thank heavens you have learned it so early in your life. That will serve you well.
Congratulations on your continued success! emoticon

Great job getting the sugar free chocolate, that stuff really is delicious. I used to steal from my dad all the time (diabetic). I just cleaned out my dryer vent recently and there was a huge problem with the amount of stuff in there. I gathered up at least a small kitchen trashcan worth of debris. Could have been dangerous o_O CHECK YOUR VENTS PEOPLE! emoticon

WOW!! Thank God you are all ok and your house is ok!! Isn't it crazy how potentially terrible moments like that bring you closer to family and friends (new relationships with neighbors and bring out the best in those around you?
Awesome job on getting back on track after a day of emotional eating and great job on recognizing what happened, what caused your feelings and overeating, and getting right back on track the following day without beating yourself up. That's great. Thanks for sharing your experience!! Keep it up :)
