The Ruminations of a Bored Mind

Thursday, May 12, 2011

It is a very slow day today, and when that happens--world, watch out! emoticon

Only kidding! I promise I'm not plotting some super-villain sort of strategy to take over the world or anything. It's just my mind comes up with odd ideas when it's allowed to roam freely.

I just logged onto Sparkpeople to track my water intake, when I took a good look at the log in page. I'm sure you have all seen it--the ticker on how many glasses of water, fitness minutes, and lost pounds all of the Sparkpeople members are tracking. Suddenly I thought--hmm, I wonder what the ratio is between water connsumed, fitness minutes burned, and pounds lost? So, I did the math (and trust me, I REALLY have to be bored to do math!). Now this is not anyplace close to accurate, because those numbers move fast! So, this is my calculation on a snapshot of those numbers:

For every one pound lost, it took 130 fitness minutes and 22 cups of water to get there.

Now I have no idea what the practical use of those numbers would be, but I just thought it would be fun to see what kind of effort (on average) went into losing a pound.

So---there's that. emoticon Now I need to go find some other crazy idea to amuse myself with.

Have an awesome day! emoticon

Hmm, so if figure the 8 glass/day, that 3 days worth of water, and if 30 min/day thats a little over 4 days of fitness minutes per pound. Would love to average a pound every four days. So keep up that water and exercise, lol!
