So, I'm sitting here...debating if I should get out the PB I've been craving...

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

It's awful..usually I will not "think" about it and I will just get a spoon out and go to town. But I thought since I am already online I would post a blog about it so I can make myself accountable and if I keep talking about it here, maybe just maybe I WON'T get the peanut butter out. I love peanut butter, but have not control over how much goes in my mouth or should I rephrase that and say..I don't care how much goes in until later in the day when I am trying to eat good! LOL.

Another good reason to not get the PB out is that I have a dentist appt today and why not just brush my teeth so I can stop eating anything ...LOL..

Thanks SP for keeping me honest. I think I need to make more choices like this. Come on here and post something to keep me from eating foods I shouldn't be eating.

We went to Chilis yesterday and after all that happened, I realized we really shouldn't have gone...I had to take my daughter to drs yesterday as she is unable to walk on her right foot and they gave her a boot/cast which is so much easier for her than the crutches! She can't do any physical activity for 1 week! Which bums her out as she has dance and gym and she signed up for he relay for life this weekend and she is unable to participate. Poor kid...she isn't have the greatest of years...I keep telling her she is turning into me. I was accident prone from the 6th grade when I dislocated my right knee!

So...the PB is still in cupboard...which is a very good thing! I just need to keep my distance..

Going to brush my teeth!

have a great day!

Actually, you CAN get single serving peanut butter sizes now for a better portion control. I know - it probably costs more, but it would be a temporary solution till either you get your cravings under control or get closer to your goal weight.

Here's an idea for when you are craving peanut butter. I like to add pb to my smoothies because it adds protein. So, take some frozen fruit (about 1/2 a cup), add a little milk (this can be determined by how thick you would like the smoothie to be) and add 1 to 2 tbsp peanut butter. You get the peanut butter taste but maybe making the smoothie and drinking that will help you stay away from it for the rest of the evening. Also, here's another secret to a smoothie that one of my friends told me about. You can add fresh spinach to it and you don't taste it at all!!! I would start with maybe 1/2 cup if you want to do that.

Hope you were able to stay out this afternoon :)

I am no nutritionist! BUT... If you have a cracker or some bread, with peanut butter, it is suppose to be good for you. you could even have some almond butter which is better. I like those whole wheat sandwich thins toasted with some peanut butter & a tad of apple butter. I would not consider that cheating at all. the results in the food tracker are impressive.

If I open the jar of peanut butter, I have no control over the number of spoonfuls that go into my mouth. They should start making little squeeze packets of peanut butter for portion control, then I'd have a shot of getting just a single serving!
