Today was the first day in years that I was able to celebrate my birthday the way that I wanted. Usually I have to work or be somewhere all day.
So I did my yoga, walked the dog, volunteered at school (which I enjoy), I went shopping and bought myself a small present, ate my favorite cereal for breakfast, ate a healthy lunch with a piece of birthday cake, visited my husband, and now I am getting ready to go out for dinner with the family. The only thing I HAVE to do today is stop at a Scout Camp Meeting in the city for two hours tonight, which is an hour away from my house. That is why we are going there as a family. We might as well have some family time together before "have to do" stuff!
I had a lovely mother's day yesterday. I mean, I could blog about the drain clogging and the adult kids not being able to visit because of work etc. But the optimist in me ignores all that. I felt much love from all the phone calls, and all the family time yesterday! And everyone pitched in to "clean" the house. We will ignore the kids bedrooms as well. I don't have to live in those rooms (laughing).
My lil sis wrote me a lovely mother's day card, and my 9 year wrote me that one of the 10 reasons that he l loves me is that I have good table manners.
Gotta love those kids!
