Big Mac for Dieters!

Sunday, May 08, 2011

Tonight I made something new for supper. I'm calling it "Big Mac for Dieters"! It was SO yummy and identical to a Big Mac!

Whole wheat bun
Vlasic dill pickles with garlic (sliced)
light 1000 Island Dressing
fat free cheddar cheese slice
(1/4 inch thick) extra lean hamburger pattie
finely chopped onions (optional)

Fry your hamburger pattie and press very firmly between paper towels to soak up a lot of the grease! Open bun, put on 2 TBSP light 1000 Island salad dressing, hamburger pattie, fat free cheese slice, sliced pickles, onions and lettuce. Put bun top on and enjoy!!

This is my own creation!

EDIT - Cut calories and fat by using extra lean ground turkey or ground chicken. (Ground turkey has less calories and fat than ground chicken.) Fry the patties on an indoor grill or outdoor BBQ (no grease required. Hehee.) and use only 1TBSP of light 1000 Island dressing! Serve with a big garden salad or raw veggies. Om nom nom.

OK.... I did a calorie count on the way I would make this and the food tracker here on Sparks came up with a total of 370 calories.
I don't eat much red meat so I make this with ground turkey burger cooked on the grill or my Gearge Foreman.
Here is what I put into the tracker to get my totals.

Hamburger Buns, Wheat, 1 serving 170 calories,
Dill Pickles, 3 slices 4 calories,
Thousand Island Salad Dressing, low calorie, 1 tbsp 31 calories,
Romaine Lettuce (salad), 1 inner leaf 1 calorie,
Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, (4 oz Before Cooking) 160 calories,
Onions, raw, 1 tbsp chopped 4 calories

I have no idea of the calorie count but it's gotta be at least half of the one from McDo's!

I also think it would depend on the type of hamburger pattie you use. I used extra lean and only 1/4 thick.

This is so yummy! I'd love feedback if you ever try it.

No doubt you could grill it too. I don't have a grill yet though. A grill and my first ever BBQ are on my personal wish list for this summer though!
