So far, this whole food project is working! I eat less, because I am satisfied quicker. I love adding in fresh stuff to all my meals (including breakfast). I used to eat lots and lots of salads to get my vegetables, which also meant lots of salad dressing and extra calories. And I was still hungry. Now we eat lots of fresh vegetables in all our meals, and lots of beans. Last week, 5 out of 7 dinners included beans. No late night hunger for me!
Last night, we deviated off our meal plan by picking up one of those "deli fresh" ready to eat pizzas and brought it home to cook. I got a stomach ache! For over 8 days we ate healthy... then one meal off our plan, and I had the first stomach ache that I have had in awhile! I couldn't eat my other slice of pizza. I had to take medication instead. Bummer!
So, the lesson here is, stick with the whole food plan. It is working! And so far, everyone in the family has enjoyed all the recipes. Personally I loved everything but the lemon artichoke chicken. Too much lemon flavor for me!
I now love hummus and include it in many of my lunches.
Well, I am off to enjoy an afternoon with my brother. I just had to stop in and share my success so far.
