Good check up with GI doc today, and my photo in the paper

Thursday, May 05, 2011

I got tired early again last night; was watching Clean House at 10pm, and had trouble staying awake for the last 15 minutes. Went right to bed at 11pm.

Since I am getting so tired earlier in the evening, (not a bad thing, for me, it means I can get up earlier in the mornings) instead of doing my reading at bedtime, I have been spending about a half hour reading after dinner. Can't wait til it gets warm enough to sit outside on my porch to do that.

Shoulder is feeling much better today; hip is hurting a little bit more than it was yesterday, but it's been manageable with my pain pills today. I think some of it is the weather once again. We went from a high of 63F yesterday, to the low 30's by early this morning. And now we have some rain coming. It's been sunny most of the day, and in the low 60's, but now it's clouding up.

I did a short stability ball workout this morning. So far off to a good start this month; I've exercised 3 out of 5 days.

I had an appointment with my GI doctor this afternoon, the one I see for my gastroparesis. It was just a routine visit for a check up. He is pleased with how I am managing it with my diet and medications; no changes need to be made at this time. My next appointment will be in October.

Our local paper has a special insert once a month called Fusion. It's kind of like a magazine geared to woman and features local women in the community. Last week I saw a notice in the paper that they were looking for mother and daughter pics for the next issue, which came out today. I submitted this one and it was printed. It was from a Relay for Life event in 2009.

That is awesome Shari!! I've done Relay for Life as well for a few years, but mostly in Evart, although my family has a team that walks here in Big Rapids for my step grandmother who is a breast cancer survivor. You look great!
