Fresh Start, of sorts........

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

OK, so I've been happily on maintenance for about four months now. Glad to have reached 125 lbs, and to wear jeans that I never thought would fit me.

For the last couple of weeks, I've been...........well..... not slipping, but complacent.
I saw the promotions for the Spring Boot Camp, and thought "Terrific, I'll join on the First." Which I did. Only problem is that we have a PC that is far from ideally situated for exercise. Turns out, working out with the videos was mucking up my schedule in such a way that I actually got LESS exercise than I had been. So I left the challenge.
On the good side of that coin, it served as the kick in the arse I needed to get back in gear and take things seriously. The LAST thing I want is to see myself lose ground.
So I can't say that I failed, I just got a very different result from the challenge than I expected. Sometimes quitting is the right thing to do, I guess.

Who'd a thunk it? emoticon

Well, I certainly wouldn't worry about quitting it because you get more exercise than nearly anyone I know. I'm always SO impressed with how many minutes you've gotten--when we were doing that basic 5 thingy, I was always AMAZED!

I would be lost without being able to use my to computer to workout. A lot of my Workouts are on my hard drive. We are a laptop family. I just never realized how inconvenient it would be not to have it. Especially since we only have a laptop in the workout room for all the dvd's and stuff. Smart to do what is best and not try to fix what is not working for you...I think I need to try that...lol emoticon

Only you know what works best for you. Great job at knowing when to stop.

I think that we have to try different things to find the ones that work for us. I am finding as I get older that I will stop/quit something that isn't working for me a lot faster than I did when I was younger. It's taken a long time to realize that some things are just not worth sticking with. LOL

With age comes wisdom. At least some times.
