Went to Olive Garden for lunch with my family, and I had the soup, salad, and breadsticks. I typically get soup, salad, and breadsticks when we go there, but we haven't been there since I started on SparkPeople.
I had two servings of salad, two breadsticks, and two bowls of the gnocchi soup.
2 servings of salad = 700 cal's
2 breadsticks = 300 cal's
2 bowls of gnocchi soup = 500 cal's
Yikes! Now, if I had to guess, I didn't have 2 full "servings" of salad, as my first serving was small and pretty dry from the dressing as I got it from the top. My second "serving" was even smaller, but had more of the dressing on it.
But, I for sure had the breadsticks and soup. Ugh. The good news is that right now I'm stuffed. I'm not hungry in the least. The bad news, of course, is that I'll be hungry later on tonight. I guess I'll be having a really REALLY light dinner, LOL.
I know that they have options at Olive Garden where you can get the un-buttered breadsticks and dressing on the side and all that, but why bother? I prefer to stick with the full-calorie versions but just have smaller portions. So, next time, I will have one of everything for a much more realistic 750 calories.
