Some revelations

Friday, April 29, 2011

So, after a kinda tough week, I decided to do something I rarely (ok, never) do. ME TIME!! Real me time, away from the house ALONE :)

After a week or so of bad sleeping, last night I finally slept fairly well. Not great, but much better. I woke feeling refreshed and ready to go.

Since the sun was out, I decided to head to a nearby college track, then Starbucks. While at the track I learned a few things about myself. First, I am NOT a track person. When I normally run it's just me and the road. Noone to pass, noone to go around, noone to think about but me. Second, goes hand in hand with the first, I'm NOT a social exerciser. The track was fairly busy, between the walkers, joggers, and a girls track team practice. My head kept getting filled with my surroundings and instead of finding my groove and enjoying the run, I got worked up and worried. Third, I should have taken a hat and sunglasses!! The sun was in my eyes, which made concentration even harder.

There were bleachers, so I decided to run up and down them a few times after my 8 laps. It was ok, but they weren't very tall and it wasn't very challenging.

After my run and stretching, I headed to Starbucks. I haven't been there in ages. A bit too rich for my blood. Though it was nice to splurge and just relax. I was hoping to get the kids Snack Fulls box that has apple slices, raisins, animal crackers, and a string cheese, but they didn't have any. In fact, the girl had no idea what I was talking about. Luckily, I planned ahead and had a back up plan. Oatmeal and dried fruit. It was very yummy and went quite well with my Pike's Place and Harry Potter Goblet of Fire :)

Hope all my wonderful Spark Friends have a glorious day! The sun is shining and it's almost 70, so I'm off to find adventure with my family. Have a wonderful day and remember: GOD LOVES YOU!!!!!!
