Today's challenge was to name something that we are afraid of failing at and have not attempted and set ourselves up for success. This one is hard for me because I usually do attempt most things but never finish the ones that intimidate me. I have lots of those. The ones that come to mind right off though are exercise related.
First off, I joined the C25K program, probably about a year ago. I did fairly well the first three weeks before pulling a leg muscle. That was the end of that. I figured that I was not meant to run and never tried again. In the back of my mind there are always excuses as to why it's not meant for me like...I pull muscles easy and my boobs are TOO big and I do not want to spend $80 to tie them down. Kinda silly, huh? I see women of all shapes and sizes on here completing the program. It's definitely a head thing.
I also attempted Jillian's 30 Day Shred and thought she had beat me to death. I made it through the first week or so and once again pulled a leg muscle. That was the end of that too. If I do not succeed right off, I tend to throw in the towel.
Luckily this only seems to be a trend with exercise and not weight loss. I never give up on losing the weight no matter how many times I fail.
What a minute! A light bulb moment just happened! It's not failure, if you get up and keep trying. BINGO!!! There you go! It is not failing if you continue to try. I must beat this into my brain! I may fall, but I do not have to fail. The choice is mine.
I am loving this challenge and discovering so many things while doing it. Whether or not you join the team, take the time to do the challenge. It has been really eye opening for me.
