Week 3 Check In

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

161.8 on the Wii today, guys- I'm so close to that 160 mark I can TASTE it. I lost 1.1 pounds on that and .6 on the bathroom scale (which brings us to 180 even today). I've been kind of all over the place on the daily weigh ins... it's like whenever I break the 180 even a little bit, my brain goes, "whoops, need to fix that." It's getting a little frustrating, but as long as
I'm losing in the big scheme of things, I'm trying not to let it bother me too much.

I keep hearing that Fage is the BEST GREEK YOGURT EVER by the die-hards (they're a little rabid about it, actually), so I gave it a shot recently. Verdict? SO not impressed. It had a weird ricotta-like consistency that was distracting. The taste wasn't bad, but it wasn't THAT great. It did have nice sized chunks of strawberry, but that's really all it had going for it. I'll stick with the Stonyfield, kthnx. For me, it pretty much goes like this.
Stonyfield > Dannon > Chobani > Fage > Yoplait (Used to be better, but then they changed their recipe or something, ugh). At least out of the ones I've tried.

Also with the Greek yogurt- I always get the strawberry kind, because strawberry is my favorite thing EVER. But there's this idea of taking the plain stuff and putting fruit in it, so I tried that with some blackberries, which I love and thought it would be better than orange. Eeew. Good in theory, bad in execution, and I ended up throwing half of it out. I'll take the extra calories and continue getting the strawberry, I think.

In other news, I read a "tip" the other day that I found incredibly amusing: "Prevent mindless munching by reading." Um. Duh? I could've told you that. Reading isn't something you can do that successfully while you stuff your face. Just one of those things. Video games too, for that matter. Kinda hard to eat when both hands are otherwise occupied. But maybe that's just me.
