After checking on "Calorie Control.org," www.caloriecontrol.org/h
I discovered that to maintain a weight of 150 lbs @ 5'5", I can eat 1,640 calories a day, even with a sedentary lifestyle (at the moment I'm exercising).
Because I currently weigh 299 lbs & am eating between 1,640 - 1,740 calories, I am now calming down, feeling like I can totally do this! What a HUGE relief.
I was envisioning having to get down to 1,200 calories and couldn't imagine how on earth that was ever going to happen, as I feel hungry if I try to eat 1,600 calories.
If I am understanding this correctly, I can eat the number of calories I'm currently consuming & will eventually even out to 150 lbs. Then, if I wanted to lose more weight @ that point, theoretically, I could increase the amount of exercise that I'm doing.
Having spent decades terrified of food, I am finally starting to feel peaceful about all of this. WHEW!
