Since it's Easter and I work at a school, I have had the last 2 weeks off. I went down to Dorset to visit relatives and I was a bit worried that I might gain weight (as I usually do when I'm away from home) because of the change in routine and the difficulty of keep to an exercise schedule. Also, it doesn't help that my mum is obese and buys loads of chocolate and cakes! Surprise surprise, I have actually lost weight and the scales have been hovering between 162 - 164 pounds meaning that I have lost nearly 5 pounds over 10 days! The reason why for this weightloss? It's not due to doing more exercise videos or something like that but by simply being more active! The weather has been surprising hot (by British standards) and I have been outside a lot more. In this past week, I have been kayaking, hiking, swimming in a river, taking very long walks with my dog and cycling. I must keep this up and not just rely on my taebo dvds to burn calories because there is obviously something to this being active lark :)
