Happy Easter!

Sunday, April 24, 2011

I've always heard that what ever you believe in , you will be tested in. Today for my status I posted, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." (Colossians 3:1). This afternoon we had our oldest two sons & their families to eat lunch with us. It was a nice day ,so after lunch we all went outside. I noticed that my leaf blower was sitting out. I thought that my son was using it to blow the leaves off the patio. So I went to put it back in the shed. The lock was broken! Someone tried to take it and left it laying in the yard. My wife told me to bring it in the house with the weed trimmer until I got another lock. I went to get the weed trimmer out of the shed, but it was missing! It was only 1 week old, & used for only about 1 hour. It was sure hard to think on things above! All I want to do is sit by the window with my gun & wait for them to come back! Not very Christ like, but that was how I felt. I've calmed down a little, but if they are brave enough to break in to my shed, what if next time they break into my house? All I can say is God is watching over us!

It is hard to be Christ like when you have been violated, but you are not tested beyond what you can endure. Grace to you.

So sorry this happened to you. I know how you feel. Someone broke into my Mother-in-Laws garage a few weeks ago. We think they were interrupted because the only thing they took was the garage door opener from her car. The combination has been changed. We still have things stored there and it was hard seeing our things & hers piled near the back door ready for them to take. I know it just makes you sick & you feel violated. I'm sure the Lord understands the emotions you are feeling right now. You are human after all. My thoughts are with you & your family.

It's only un-Christ like in that He doesn't need a gun nor does He need to wait for them...oh, and He doesn't need a weed trimmer...Hmmm, not really Christ like at all I guess.

I wonder who would be bold enough to steal from Jesus...come to think of it, I probably have in some way or another. I think there's a message there somewhere. Hope you get your weed trimmer back.

I'm really sorry that happened Alan. Especially to such good people like you and your wife. I've had that ahppen to me in the apst. Money stolen from my home and computer items. It's a rough feeling. first you cry then you rage then the calmness. Hang in there.

So when did this happen? Today? I am so sorry and I understand 100% how you feel! What is this world coming to?
Our dogs alert us if anyone comes in our yard. Our property is totally fenced off from the road, so you must come in through the gate. The dogs don't miss a thing. Maybe you need a watch dog tied outside the shed? emoticon
