What a difference a couple of weeks can make! In my last blog post, less than two weeks ago, I was very frustrated because I had been sidelined by back pain. This week, on-the-other-hand, has been the best training week that I have had in a while. I have worked out seven of the last eight days, including two strength and conditioning days. In addition, I had three days where I doubled up on classes at the gym, either doing two Jiu Jitsu classes (Monday) or a Jiu Jitsu class and an MMA class (Wednesday and Friday). This is going to be my standard training schedule while rampping up for my fight in July, but I have not trained at this level in a while and it felt really good.
On the flip side, I have a long ways to go. I had to run to the bathroom and wretch at the end of the MMA workout tonight. I ran back and finished up the cardio rounds though, so not too bad. My stand up striking is also looking very sloppy at this point.
I have a lot of work to in the next 13 weeks, but I am feeling like I might be able to pull it off...
