Hi This is my first official "Blog". I posted this info on someone's welcome but it will probably get lost in a few days. There was an article in this month's Arthritis Today magazine that talked about using a major change in your life as a springboard for making other changes. Most people think that when your life is in tumoil due to a sudden change (such as illness, surgery, moving, retirement, etc...) what we want most is known routine. However studies have found that when you are in a time of changes, it is actually easier to make healthy changes because your brain is already in change mode and it adapts to more change. So next time we are hit with a crisis it might be good to step back a minute and ask ourselves how we can use the momentum that change brings into our life to make healthy changes in other areas of life.

Interestingly, in the Chinese language, the symbol for CRISIS is the same as the symbol for OPPORTUNITY !! Hmmm.... those old wise ones must have known a thing or two back then!!

Just FOOD FOR THOUGHT.........HUGS---Lynne

Iagree. When my duty to my mother was over after she died, I bought a condo, moved downtown and started a new life. Nver too old to make major changes in your life. When I retired I lost a very rigid routine in accounting and it is so great not having one now. I can decide how much or how little I want to do each day. and am losing the guilt about the days when I do little. That is OK too.

well that makes alot of sense .. I need to switch my brain to the * change * mode..Although I have to say, I can do something for a day or two .. I just don't keep it long enough for it to make an impact ..hmm something else to work on ..

I think those Chinese were on to something .. Did I tell you about my friend who just got back from China ..?? don't think I did.. well she was having a miniscus problem .* knee prob * she went to some chinese natural healer , he took her pulse and told her that she had high bp and diabettes.. he was right.. She told him of her knee.. he applied accupressure ..she said she yelped and took one step back it hurt so bad .. She has no pain at all in her knee ...
