Boy what a year it has been. I now weigh below 200 pounds. Here are some things I have learned in this past year:
1. Moderation: I still have an occasional piece of chocolate--- a piece not the whole bag.
2. Water: I never realized how important water is to my body. Now that I get 8+ glasses in a day my sugar levels are in better control, I don't bloat as much (PMS), and I stay in my calorie range better.
3. Exercise: I may not track it as well as I should but I am now up to a total 3 miles a day walking. I find myself looking for an excuse to add more steps on my pedometer. I also use my morning stroll as my "caffeine" fix. Finally, the most important item I learned about exercising is that I don't have to walk my 3 miles all at once.
4. Portions: I now measure everything. Although through out the year I have learned to notice what a "cup" is. While at a conference, I looked at my plate and noticed that the veggies took up half of my plate. I did not even have to think about it; its starting to come natural to me.
I may have only lost 40 pounds in this first year, but more importantly I learned more about myself and my eating habits! Thanks SP for helping me help myself!!!
