Hello, I am a carboholic

I have been logging my food religiously...and, no surprise, it has become quite clear that I am a carboholic! I need to find ways to eat more protein and a balanced diet! Fresh veggies and fruits too, of course.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!! I love yogurt...so I will look into greek yogurt. and found a renewed interest in seafood too..so will explore the scallops!! Thanks every one...keep the suggestions coming.. I need all the help I can get :D


    BTW...love BBQ salmon with a bit of smoked seasalt....TDF, as my daugher would type...LOL.

    You might want to try Greek yogurt. I use Fage 2%. Greek yogurt is higher in protein than regular yogurt. I've even used it to make veggie dip in place of sour cream. It tastes good, reduces the fat and bumps the protein a little. Just a thought...

    Haha, I love carbs as well :) However, I love veggies too, which is good. Some times when I need a bit more protein I walk down to the local coffee shop for a non-fat latte. Skim milk always helps me achieve the protein that I need in my diet. Also I love seafood. Scallops are low cal and FULL of protein. I eat those about once a week. I simply saute them in a bit of butter and white wine. Also you could use chicken broth. But don't forget to use plenty of seasoning. I use salt/pepper/parsley/fresh garlic. They are SUPERB prepared that way. I coat my husbands in a bit of flour since he likes that outer crunch to be present.

    Also, Shrimp cocktail is a good way to get some protein. If you don't like seafood, or meat, try eating refried beans (fat free) and mix them with black beans and a little bit of salsa and fat free cream cheese. Use that as a dip for veggies. I like raw zucchini since it is crunchy and doesn't have a big flavor on its own. That way you can really taste the dip :)
