Finals week, wherein it all falls to @#$! and then I slowly get back on track

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Technically, next week is finals week. But this is the beginning of my end of semester chaos. I spent most of my weekend working on school work.

Missed the fireworks. Flaked on the SP Meet-up. Was actually grateful for the stormy weather so I didn't have to feel guilty about not walking the dog further. (That's a lie - I still feel guilty)

From here, I have to give a presentation tonight, need to finish editing a video project, need to write two research papers by next week and give one more presentation the following week. Good times.

Oh, and work. They still expect me to show up and do stuff too.

Because I have lousy time management skills, I haven't logged many fitness minutes since I last posted. The only thing I have to show for the weekend was a 25 minute walk with my dog on Sunday. (She still gets walked, mind you - I'm not a horrible person - just not in long enough increments to warrant tracking)

Doing a little better this week. I went for a run yesterday morning (50 minutes) and again today (40 minutes). Since my alarm is already set, I'm hoping that I can keep getting up to work out the rest of the week.

So, with 24 days to go until my 1 year Sparkiversary, I have 777 minutes to go.

That is 32 minutes a day, so you can still make it if it is a priority. The best goals always have some forgiveness and flexibility in them, so remember that. We are in this for the long haul, for the lifestyle change. Maybe instead of worrying about the 777 you should look at your success:
YOU HAVE LOST 30 POUNDS!
YOU HAVE DONE 1223 (AND MORE) FITNESS MINUTES IN THE FIRST SPARK YEAR!
YOU HAVE SUPPORTED A LOT OF PEOPLE THROUGH SPARK
AND
YOU DID IT WHILE LEADING A RICH, FULL, BUSY LIFE!

We are our own worst critics! I think you are doing wonderful! I'll bet your dog does too!
