Missing Molly

Monday, April 18, 2011

Yesterday we had to make the difficult decision to let our golden retriever, Molly, cross the rainbow bridge. I'm sad and miss her so very much! All our animals have something special about them, and Molly was no exception. Molly loved everyone she ever met, both human, canine or feline. They all loved her in return. Another special thing about Molly is that she's the only dog I've ever known to have a "boyfriend". Our pekingese, Riley, was her boyfriend. He was completely devoted and always protective of her. He didn't even want to go for walks with me because he didn't want to be away from her. He got away from me once when we were out walking, and he started running towards home. I know he wanted to get back to "his" Molly. I'm worried about Riley and how he's going to adapt to life without her, but I know if he could understand he'd know that she's in a better place and he'd be glad that she's not struggling to walk anymore and isn't in any pain.
There's a very empty spot in my heart right now. I'm filled with sadness and have shed many tears. Molly wasn't a pet - she was a very special part of our family. I'm glad that the last words she heard from us were "I love you". Molly...I miss you!!!!! emoticon

I had to lead my Golden to the rainbow bridge a year and a half ago. I miss her dearly. However, I knew it was time for her to go and not hurt anymore. My heart goes out to you. I know how hard it is. Molly is thankful for all of the love you have given to her. emoticon

I'm so sorry about your dog Molly. Losing a pet is just like losing a member of your family. It is so hard. I hope your other dog adjusts well. It can be hard on pets too, but I'm sure you'll give him the love he needs! emoticon

So sorry to hear your sad news. I hope that you are soon able to find comfort in many happy memories that you must have of her and that Riley will too. It has been many, many years since my dog died but I still remember her funny ways and enjoy fond memories, albeit tinged with the sadness of her loss. emoticon

Debbie so sorry you've lost Molly.
Pets touch our lives so deeply and they become family.
She is out of pain now and has crossed over and you've paid her a wonderful tribute.
You'll never forget her so she'll always be with you emoticon emoticon

    Oh Debbie~
Now I am crying, I know the pain and it never gets any easier. Even though we grow up and get mature when we lose our pups it hurts deep to the core. Riley will go through a period of depression and missing her. The good news is that animals do not linger in pain as some humans do and he will be ok.

I wish I could help you go through this, my thoughts and prayers are with y ou.

We lost our golden retriever, Ginger, last month. Maybe they are keeping each other company chasing their tails and racing around the place.

So sorry for your loss emoticon

I am so sorry to read about your precious Molly. As a dog lover, I know too well how this feels and I know you are hurting. There's no one in the whole wide world like your dog -- I will be praying for you and for Riley -- at least we understand what's going on, but poor Riley can only wonder.

Blessings to you as you go through this difficult adjustment --
