Today is patriots day--the day that people run the Boston Marathon. I'm going to watch one of my friends run by today at lunch and cheer her on. Running a marathon is something to be very proud about. When I was in grad school, one of the things people would say was, "It's not a sprint, it's a marathon". The idea being that you shouldn't focus on getting everything done at once--which could lead to burn out, but rather focus on lasting until the end.
I think weight loss and maintaining healthy habits in general is a lot like a marathon - -in addition to being like a scavenger hunt, of course. It's more important to last until the end than to lose a lot of weight up front. I'm definitely in the slow pace when it comes to weight loss.
I kept up my goals this week--but just barely. I went to a roller derby and ate 2 delicious cupcakes--which finishes off my treat coupons for the month. They were very yummy and totally worth it.
It's still an effort to go to bed on time. I'm going to work on that this week. I tend to let myself wait until 12:15...but I really shouldn't. I do notice that when I go to sleep on time I have a lot more energy during the day.
weight wise I lost another pound this week. Yay!
Hope you had a good week too!!!
