Sleep is so important and many of us take it for granted. As a life long insomniac, I know about crappy sleeping habits. I've been through every fad and trick. The only thing that truly works is getting plenty of exercise and meditation. I also use frequency modulation to gently guide my brainwaves down through the alert patterns to alpha and finally theta, on those evenings when my mind is being stubborn and really resistant to shutting down - lol.
In addition to relieving stress and slowing the aging process, it appears that sleep has a lot to do with the regulation of your metabolism (hence, the anti-aging scenario).
