1,000 Day Fitness Streak

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Hi all!

I'm starting an experiment. I will try to do a 1,000-day streak of 10+ fitness minutes. I once did a 700-day streak that directly led to the creation of SparkPeople. Today is day 1 with a bike ride around the neighborhood. Hit like if you'll do at least some of the days with me! If enough people consistently do 10+ minutes most days (not the 1,000-day streak part), it will change the world!

More details to come...

I don't know how many days, but it is less than 5. So far lost 5 pounds and my fasting glucose is steady in the mid to high 90's. Big improvement from a couple of weeks ago, I was in the 120's. Good start!!! emoticon

I am on about Day 16, since I decided to join this Challege and I feel energized. It's true, I read someone blog, a body in motion stays in motion!

I would think that 10 minutes of hooping with a weighted hula hoop counts along with 3 minutes of sit-up/crunches and push-ups when I don't have time to do my longer more intense and structured workouts. It seems that you can count me in!!! since at the very least I try to put in my all in just walking to work and going up and down the stairs at work. emoticon

Today will be day 37 for me - if it ever stops raining long enough for me to get in a walk. I guess if it doesn't, I'll use my eliptical this evening.

I do 60+ minutes almost every day, except "days off" (usually once a week, sometimes twice). From now on I WILL ADD doing 10 Minutes on my "days off". Thanks emoticon

I had been trying to get at least 10 min a day but have gotten off track for the last few days. Today is my first day back on track! This is a good challenge. I just got a perimeter and will try to keep track of how many miles I can walk along with the miles on my bicycle.

Let's see...24hrs/day times 6 (10-minute parts to an hour) equals 144 10-minute parts to a day. And you want me to commit only one of those 144 to exercising? Okay, count me in!

I am on day 119 of an exercise streak. I need to commit to exercise every day to keep on track. Committing to doing only 10 minutes makes it easier to get started, though I usually end up completing 30-60 minutes.

I already do this but haven't made it a goal. 10 minutes a day on days not at the gym, but 30 t0 60 minutes a day on the three or four days a week I go.

Fantastic goal! And great support so far.
I'm in the 10-minutes-a-day group, and I'm really happy that I've manged at least that nearly every day since I started there.
I'll make extra sure I do my 10, and I'll try to add in another 10 to support you.
