We've been talking about it for years, and Mike and I have finally made the decision... we're going to try for another baby.
A 13 year gap between kids might be a little unconventional, but we've never claimed to do things in the same order as most :)
I'm so thrilled I can't contain my excitement! We haven't told anybody yet- so any of you that are Facebook friends with me please keep it on the down low. But I just had to talk about my excitement with somebody- and where else but on Spark? Over the years I've blogged about more personal things here then I ever would in public.
Along with that news is another related life changing decision- I'm selling my salon. Three reasons- 1)reduce my stress for the pregnancy 2)reduce my responsibilities for once we are pregnant and after the baby arrives 3)to put a little extra $ into savings for the delivery and some time off for maternity leave.
I will still be working- just not owning anymore.
Hopefully the sale of the shop will only take a few months- we don't want to start trying till after it's sold. We're guessing selling a business will come with similar stresses as selling a house and we want to get it done with beforehand.
I have an appointment on the 26th with my obgyn and will talk to her about preconception health. I'll still be doing my half next month since that's so soon- nothing will be happening by then. But this does make my Warrior Dash plans unsure. For now- I'm still planning on it- but obviously, if all moves quickly I might not be able to do it this year. But there's always next year- and it would be good motivation to get in shape again and drop baby weight.
How different it is from when we had Bryn. We were 19 and had no idea what we were doing, she was a complete surprise. I had absolutely no knowledge about health or nutrition- I lived off McDonalds and waffles with powdered sugar for the entire 9 months! I gained 80 pounds during the pregnancy. Must have been by some miracle of my youth that she was born so healthy. This time I'm going into it from a healthy start- I eat right, I exercise, I take my vitamins with folic acid. I'm crossing my fingers that once it happens pregnancy hormones and cravings don't kill the last few years of hard work- but I don't see myself going too crazy knowing what I now know about the importance of nutrition.
Okay- done babbling... just excited :) Hopefully in about 2-6 months from now I'll be letting you all know I'm pregnant :)
