looking at the numbers

OK, I've been here a year.
I joined after visiting the doctor because I had really bad heartburn. One day I was eating an apple (healthy, right?) and part of it came back up because my stomach couldn't handle it. So yeah, not very healthy. I was about 289 at that point.
So I signed up, and I was really excited all summer with earning points and doing things. I started walking barefoot. I lost some weight!
Things were kinda stagnant for the fall, because I wasn't eating very well. I would try and limit things like ice cream and movie popcorn, but I still had them far too often. I wasn't exercising strenuously enough, I don't think, which is easy to say when looking back, at the time it seemed pretty good.
Anyway, at the end of the calendar year I weighed 265 or so (depending on the day), so I had lost over 20 pounds - nothing to sneeze at! I was feeling better but decided to push a bit more.
I started lifting weights, I have some dumbbells in the garage. Soon after I added crunches and push-ups to the mix. I started walking a little bit further, picking up my pace and actually running a little bit of the time. I started trying to stay on top of the nutrition tracker each day (I'm still struggling with that).
In the last year I have logged 275 miles, 95 of those since January 1. I have over 3,000 fitness minutes since January 1, and nearly 500 just in April so far! I'm eating better and losing weight faster - I'm down to 246 pounds today, so right around 20 lbs in the last four months. Even better is that my clothes are fitting better and I'm feeling stronger all around.
Not a bad year.
