Well, it kinda was a necessity, but I feel the hand of the Lord intervening.
We were on the way to my mother's memorial service and BANG - something broke in the truck. We got back home, but the only solution was for me to get my car started up and for me to drive I had not driven since November when I drove to the fire hall to cast my vote. I had a tough time turning the wheel and was glad to get the car parked for the winter. Last weekend, I had to go the the eye doctor to get my driver's license eye exam completed. Nothing in this area is closeby. It is a half-hour drive to the eye doctor. My friend drove, and I was grateful. It seemed nice to get out of the house, but the traffic bothered me. I figured when my new glasses are ready, I would be ready to drive to pick them up.
Well, the church where my mother was memorialized is an hour and a half (the way I drive) to two hours (the way my friend drives) away. We started at 10:15 am to be there by 1:00 pm. We were not even out of our county when the truck broke. Still not sure what happened, but I feel it was just God telling me it was time to get back behind the wheel. The trip was pleasant. The weather was perfect. The service was lovely. The trip back home was uneventful. I was happily exhausted and am looking forward to going to get my new glasses next week.
Thanks for all your support in this time of sorrow. My mom had COPD and has been on oxygen for 7 years. Since Christmas she has been having a real hard time breathing, so this is peace for her. She was 86, so her life was long and successful.
OK, onward and downward - I am going to get to 200 by year end. This is my goal.
