This week I finally accepted that I had to increase my movement if I was ever going to lose this weight.
I read the above article here at Spark, and was shocked to find a most startling fact: "Overweight and obese individuals are more likely to lose weight and keep it off if they exercise for least 250 minutes per week. Exercising for more than 250 minutes per week has resulted in "significant" weight loss for these individuals. "
I did start Zumba about a month ago and I kind of thought that would be it. But when I read the 250 min per week thing, it jolted me into reality.
So I have had to galvanize this old body into action. I will continue with the Zumba because I love it so, and will add other DVDs or Spark videos to bolster the amount of time needed. My only rule is if I don't like the instructor -like if they are too screamy or annoying- I can swap something else in.
So here is the first week over with increased movement, and I am a little achy but I live to fight another day.
