You know, I realized today that I actually feel good while I am doing my taxes.

It makes me feel accomplished and productive.

Oh, don't get me wrong.

I, like all of us, wish we never had to do taxes. But we all are familiar with the quote "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride".

So instead of grousing about having to do them, like it or not, why not enjoy it?

After all, it IS the adult thing to do, isn't it.

I used to have a CPA do our taxes, and he and I really big time did not like each other. I dreaded having to go to him.

He was very good at what he did, but had the personality of a hungry shark.

Now that we are both retired, doing our taxes has become quite simple actually. Especially with the Turbo Tax help.

I just enter the correct numbers in the correct place, get it all filled in, and send it off.

When I click the send button, I feel GOOD. I feel ADULT. I feel FINISHED.

The best part though???

I get to play in my quilt room after with no feelings of "I SHOULD BE DOING......"

I have earned my play time.
