Don't Give Up!

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

I was SO disappointed recently when I went to catch up with a fellow Sparker as I had an e-mail notice of her latest blog and...

POOF!

She was gone without a trace! No SparkPage, no recognition of her in the SparkSearch...just dropped right off the face of the planet!

This has happened before and I my heart just falls so...what could have happened? Could I have said something that might have made a difference?

Well, I'm passing this blog along to share with others and hope it will make a difference.

Feel free to forward it to anyone who you think might need some inspiration:

Thank you SO MUCH JOHNTJ1!!

Here's a little more inspiration from Pink & John Legend along with Herbie Hancock and his band...

I had 4 SP friends disappear last year! It's such a bummer. I wax and wane with the time I spend here but I think I'm here for the long haul. Spring through Fall are very busy times (everywhere!) here in the country now that the gardening is underway! Love it though!

You're a great encourager, Don--don't ever disappear!!! emoticon

I know that sting, too. I'm sure some need a break and some are just overwhelmed and quit and some have reached their goals and left figuring there is nothing left here for them. For whatever reason, I think it would just be courteous if they jsut leave a quick blog or status letting everybody know very breifly that they are leaving and /or if it's for good or temp. It'd just be nice. I've had a couple of friends go and they had the courtesy to do that. Sorry your friend didn't. Maybe she'll be back one day. You just keep SParkin', buddy!!! emoticon

Anyone who has been on Spark for some length of time has lost friends. If this lifestyle change was easy none of us would be here.

Think of how many times you started one program or another and eventually quit. But wait a minute, you didn't quit, you took a break to let the dust settle. You were processing all your experiences in your subconcious.

The absolute proof you didn't quit is that your here!! Welcome.

Trust your friends, while missing, are taking a break. Maybe Spark wasn't the best fit for them. Let's hope all our missing friends find the program that works for each one of them and that they meet all their goals.

In the meantime, I'm glad your still here making progress in your life and that your my friend. Keep up the good work and let's all raise a glass of water to the friends that are still here.

Totally agreed, I had been sparking this one gal and poof she went away. Very hard, but we still need to keep sparking even though we can't control their delete button!

You just have to hope that they have gotten what they needed from SparkPeople and wish them well. I highly doubt it was anything you said or didn't say since you are a truly motivating man with truly good things to say!

I've had friends disappear like that too, it's heartbreaking. All I can say is that I hope they found what they were looking for.

Yeah, that has happened to me too! My heart goes out to them as do my prayers.

If I ever vanish, there are people in the real world that are also on SP that can track me down.

My Dad's SP ID is EAGLE101
My Niece's SP ID is LOVEY890
My Sister's SP ID is DCRAFTER
My friends SP ID is OHIOFISHBEAR

And if I ever do quit, you have my permission to hunt me down and/or send one or all of them to kick my butt until I UN-quit! hehe!

It's always sad when a sparkfriend is just gone, whether suddenly or fading slowly. It's something I've gotten used to, but it's still something that bothers me, too.

Thanks for sharing John's blog. It's so true what he writes. This isn't an easy process, and it's always reassuring to read the struggles, and ultimate triumphs over them, of others.

Thanks Don! It made me really sad the first time that happened and I don't want to become immune. If it helps change even one person's mind that would be great.
