To busy to track food

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

Always a mistake. I haven't been able to find enough time to get online and have been pretending that I would remember ever morsel. Driving kids to doctors appointments and to the library, out of the house lessons and emergency clothes shopping needs....who am I kidding. Tomorrows going to be another crazy day, so I'm writing down my food tonight. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

You are more important than you give yourself credit for. You TAKE 10 minutes and write all that down for sure. Tracking is sooo helpful though. You get to see if you are getting enough of EVERYTHING you need. Either get up 1/2 hour earlier or go to bed 1/2 hour later. Track, track, track. There is no substitution and you are sooo worth it.

I plan meals for my self and use the food grouping tab, way faster and easier. A lot of meals are repeated with just a few changes here and there, so I pretty much know each day especially for breakfast and lunch of what I had.
Just a word from experience, I know about the chaos of life and children, but make yourself a priority and give yourself that little bit of time for you. It’s not easy and it sometimes feels selfish but in retrospect, the doing and caring all the time for others although rewarding at times can be tiring, frustrating and full of stress which in part has aided to our weight issues. YOU’RE worth the time so please give it to yourself…..

I often set up my tracker 3-5 days in advance. If anything changes I just change as I go and I'll usually add snacks the day off. Maybe if you could find 5-10 minutes in the morning or the night before you could plan out your food ahead of time!

Good plan! I'm very bad about tracking my food and I know that it is one area that is holding me back from success!

I've finally resulted to carrying a small notebook in my purse to jot down what I eat. I've also found it helps me to write what time it was - I discovered that 11:00 and 4:30 are the times (approximately) I get off track if I don't eat a lot of protein for breakfast and lunch!
Stay positive. We're getting back on track together.

I've been there this past week myself! Not looking good for all of April! Tomorrow I'm making 5 pans of Mexican Lasagne and on Thursday and Friday a big cake to serve 50 for our AWANA T&T party. It's going to be a tough few days food wise! But I'll be hanging in there and I'll be praying the same for you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The challenge is always to find a way to integrate Sparking into our busy lives. Tracking your food the night before sounds like a good idea! emoticon

I always carry a small notebook with me, and on busy days, just take a moment to jot down what I've eaten. It works for me!!

If you have a blackberry there is an app. You can also plan your meals in the tracker and stick to it so you don't have to edit.
