No sweets for Lent!Yikes!!!

I gave up my beloved "sweets" for Lent. I am not one that eats alot of junk but I absolutely appreciate a sweet treat every now and then (brownies being my favorite). The first couple of days before Lent, I thought about what woul dbe hard for me to give up for the next 40 days. I had a list going of semi bad habits and such. (i.e... Alcohol (not really a big drinker so that made the bottom of the list), chocolate, desserts, soda (again, not a problem anymore)..so i took the 2 hardest things for me which are chocolate and desserts and decided i woul d give up both!
As i got shocked looks and bad advice to just give up ONE so i can still have the other, I was motivated more to give up BOTH and ALL Sweets! Anyone that knows me, KNOWS i love my sweets!
So the first day (Ash Wednesday)- the company i work for is celebrating their 26 year anniversary with Cupcakes from Torrance bakery so they have these gigantic boxes of delicious cupcakes sitting on the table in the lunch room and cupcakes arranged on plates in the lobby-so every where you turn -CUPCAKES!
I dreamt i was in a candy factory-Willy Wonka Style.
Now if this isnt temptation trying to get a hold of me -I don't know what. I couldn't stop laughing, cuzz i am not really big on candy and i am having this dream... andwhat makes it funnier is that the narrator's voice from T'was the night before christmas was playing in my dream saying " And visions of sugar plums danced in their heads" (on repeat).
A few days later, a coworker brings in Brownies (my absolute favorite- and self proclaimed Kryptonite)with a sign that says "Crunchy on the outside, Chewy on the indside"- talk about rubbing it in... that one was hard..but you know what I survived it! I surprised myself..lol
Now i just laugh about it and Yes i miss my sweets, but it is very important for me to stick to it and this is what i needed to snack healthier.
Personal Challenge Update section:
Personal challenge 1: WORK OUT atleast 20-45 minutes a day
Personal challenge 2: Drink more water.
Personal challenge 3: Snack healthier. By pass the sugar for fruit or veggies.
Personal challenge 4: Socialize a little more.
#1 A bunch of coworkers and I have pledged to work out for atleast 30 minutes a day.So far so good. I go for a walk after work or during lunch. Still working on making time for the gym.
#2 Very good.
#3 I gave up sweets for Lent. So far so good..the first week was the hardest. (see above)
