Hi and Goodbye

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

Itís been awhile, not because Iíve fallen off the wagon, but because Iíve been enjoying life. My weight has stayed constant since I reached my goal in 2008. I still eat out and cook elaborate meals, but I seem to have found a balance. My running fell by the wayside, but now that the weather is starting to clear, Iím planning on taking it up again.

Lots of plays, games, ballets, concerts, trips, etc. with the love of my life. Iím still reading as much as I can, but am also working on a cross-stitch project for Christopher. Iím also working on a couple of writing projects. Then thereís gardeningÖ

This past week I took vacation in order to supervise the building of raised garden beds. My son did a great job. Sure, it took longer than I thought it would, but they look great. Heís adding some finishing touches to the drip irrigation system and hauling off all of the trimmings (bamboo and other ďweedsĒ filled the area that I now call my garden.) Looking forwards to seeing sprouts and using the bounty for our meals.

Just wanted to check in with all of my friends now since I probably wonít be on this site muchÖ Good luck to everyone on your weight loss goals!

I am back Sparking and checking in on old friends. I need to find my balance still; but certainly enjoying life more than when I began this whole thing. I am working on raised beds for gardening as well. I hope you had a great bounty last year. I'm about ready to stop the work on the raised beds and just PLANT. It's getting late in the season. Winter is my favorite time to garden in S. Calif. I'm planning on putting in....
arugula, lettuces, cabbages, brocolli, kale, mustard, chard, turnips, radish, beets, peas, cilantro, parsley, flax, carrots, and lots of onions, leeks, garlic, green onions, shallots... and lots of flowers for interest and to bring the butterflies and hummers around.

I hope to someday be able to write a blog just like yours Karen. But, for now, I need Spark People every day to help me get where I'm going.

I'm so happy for you!

Congrats on the garden. My husband built me raised beds for my garden a few years ago and they are fabulous! And what a great son for helping out.

That's really wonderful and just where I hope to be one day! A nice, balanced, full life, living at goal weight forever! (give or take a pound or two!)

Best wishes! emoticon
