My daughter is an escape artist

Tuesday, April 05, 2011

OK, so...I have not been to the gym in several days and was looking forward to going to my Body Combat class last night! But my daughter, the Houdini, had other plans. :) She decided to escape from her crib yesterday afternoon, which sent us in a panic to Babies R Us for babyproofing items and night lights, and then when we came home it was time to convert the crib to a toddler bed.
I fed her dinner while DH converted the bed. It was after 9 when she went to bed. She was quite tuckered out and THANKFULLY went right to sleep. I then collapsed on the couch with a glass of wine to calm my nerves (which I have decided counts as a serving of fruit).
So that was my night. How was yours?

I'm shocked that Xavier hasn't tried it yet. His bed converts into a toddler bed, so I'm prepared- but he'll be two on the 25th, so I'm surprised he hasn't attempted :)

lol! Crazy how your daughter can do one little thing and totally up-end your whole day ;) At least she went to sleep for you! Still hoping she starts taking naps again for you. Hey, even if she doesn't, it's time to create "quiet time."

Time does fly, it feels like you were just pregnant and she's already almost two? insane! Hope you get some "me time" today!

The title of your blog caught my eye -- I'm soo relieved to hear it was a little one and not a teen!! My son (now 20) didn't navigate out of his crib but my daughter (now 17) she was not to be contained!! She also found things to help her climb up on things that sonnybun never thought of--
They don't have any calculations for the calorie burn in panic and chasing a escaped toddler . .tends to raise the heart rate though!

I LOVE that you count wine as a serving of fruit!! I so am getting to my fruit goal tonight!!
Enjoy your glass of wine, relax, and pray that your daughter isn't this stealthy at 16.

I agree with wine. I may join you... for other reasons. Your daughter is Houdini, my hubby thinks he's Mike Holmes.

Don't watch Please Don't Eat the Daisies until she's older. The kid in that movie is a Houdini as well.
I've been told that I used to climb out of my crib all the time. I have no memory of this but I do remember watching The Beatles cartoon and apparently could only have done so by escaping my crib.
I'm sorry you didn't get to Body Combat. I know you enjoy it.
Wine is made from grapes. Grapes are fruit. emoticon
