I have been as healthy as I know how to be since January and I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. I am definitely in better cardiovascular condition - I ran 10 km yesterday (4th day of running in a row!) and did an hour of Zumba today, and I feel great - not even really tired! But in terms of weight loss, I feel like I'm stuck. I have not lost an ounce, and the tape measure isn't showing anything different either.
I think I probably need to do more strength training, but how do I fit it in? Training for this 10K run is really eating into my schedule...it's hard to find time just for that, let alone strength training! I guess I should just think small bites - 10 minutes a day is all I need. The bootcamp videos are great for that! Okay, I can fit in 10 minutes a day. I'll get the kids to join in with me. Or do it first thing in the morning. I just have to get out of bed 10 minutes earlier! I do miss that awesome upper body muscle definition I had a couple of years ago! I also need to work on my core strength more. I have all these physio things I haven't been doing enough of, so if I schedule them in the morning it should help.
It will be better when I don't have to work this midnight shift any more. 2 more weeks and I can have my Monday nights back. That will make life easier.
