Today I'm going to stay in my range. It's only one day, but one day is all I can handle right now. If I can do it today, then I will try and do it tomorrow.

This morning I skipped the gym because I didn't get to the grocery store over the weekend, and we had NO food in the house. Tonight, I will go to the gym instead of choir practice. I've decided that it is too hard to be a mom and a musician at the same time, plus go to school. :(

Also this morning, I set up a new strength routine. My legs are sore from my ride yesterday! So I added some ST for legs and core, plus all my upper body stuff I always do. I'm gonna shoot for 2X weekly. I always thought since I use my legs so much when I do my cardio, that I didn't really need ST for lower body, but yesterday I was proven wrong.

I didn't make it out to run or bike this morning, because it was raining. I probably should've gone after getting groceries, but when I got home my kids were starting to get up. Once they're up, forget it, I can't do anything.

Well I have to get everyone out the door for school, then I have my own classes today. Have a great Spark day. :)

    Jen, you and I don't face the same hurdles, yet I identify with you. I'm 56 years old, have already raised my kids, tried school plus kids some years ago and gave up (Don't do that!), and have tried to be healthy. I never exercised beyond walking, gardening, and my PT (Physical Therapy) exercises for my back until I came to Spark People. I love it here.     I believe in you. Wearing too many hats, mom, musician, student, etc., is hard! It is great to read that you are setting priorities for what you need. And, it is ok to change those priorities as needed. :)

    For me, I try to really enjoy the moments, even if they are shared with others and are not exclusively my exercise/me time. We are worth the added happy. Perhaps, you can add some silly to breakfast with the kids...or not...LOL (there is a time and place, I know) It is just a thought, but occasionally I use the spatula as a mic and sing some tunes.
