If you have kept up with my blog in the past, then you know that in the past couple of months we bought our first house, packed up & moved. We moved into our new house about 3 weeks ago and since February I have not been eating and exercising like I should at all. Especially in the last few weeks since I have been consumed with packing, unpacking, decorating, etc. along with the normal daily grind of work and life, my healthy habits have pretty much plummeted. Thanks to my poor lifestyle choices, I have gained almost 3 lbs. This 3 lbs is not that big of a problem since I am in maintenance mode and that only brings me up to 123.4 lbs, however, my poor choices have also caused health issues.
Saturday morning I woke up feeling terrible and the day went downhill from there. By mid afternoon I was having severe radiating pain in my chest, shoulder and arm areas, lower back pain, sweating, high heart rate, and high blood pressure. At first I wondered if I was going to have a heart attack, but I know what heart issue pain feels like (I had palpitations as a teenager/college student) and this wasn't the same kind of pain. I was with my SIL who is a nurse (as am I), so we put our little nursing brains together and decided that it could possibly be GI/gallbladder problems. When I eat poorly, I usually feel like there is sludge in my blood, but this time it was just too much. At 22 years old, I am much too young to be having health issues.
Well, hubby wanted to take me to the ER, but I convinced him to let me try going back to eating right for a couple of weeks and then see if the pain subsided. If it doesn't, I will go see a doc. I really think that it is related to the health choices I have made in the past few weeks. I mean, I did eat over a gallon of ice cream, chips, soda, pizza, cookies, lots of fast food, etc. in the past few weeks & I have been on 1 fifteen minute walk since we moved into our new house. Ugh. I am just disgusted with myself.
All that said, it's time to get back on track! I started eating right again yesterday. I am going back to clean eating which always makes my body feel SO MUCH BETTER!
Oh, and we are going to Cancun for vacation this summer!! That will be some good motivation to get my butt back in gear!
