So I haven't blogged for a while. Things have been busy, end of the hockey season wrapped up for my son, spring break for the 2 big kids, started a new job that takes up my evenings, and just life in general has kept me busy. Tomorrow the kids go back to school after 2 weeks of Spring Break! Looking forward to getting back to a routine, although they were gone for the first week so it actually went by pretty fast for me but the little one sure noticed the difference in our routine, although he did manage to sleep in most days, which was nice!
I started Couch to 5 K 2 and have completed the first 2 weeks. Tomorrow I will start week 3, this is the week I was unable to get past the last time I attempted it as my knee pain was so bad that I could hardly walk after I finished a run. So far my knee has not bothered me at all, or my IT band, and I have been really good about stretching well after my run/walks and in cross training on my days off. Hopefully these will set me up for success this time! My sister and I are going to be running a race together on June 26th, which I am super excited and nervous about! I still have to actually register for it but I will do that this week. I have been running Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so far and it seems to be working well. This week I may have to tweak the schedule a bit as I will be gone Tuesday to Thursday to attend my aunt's funeral. My plan though is to still get my run/walk in at my mom and dad's on Wednesday before I have to get ready for the funeral, will probably make the day a little easier to get through as well.
Two weeks until my birthday. I have no real goal to met before then but would be nice to be under 165 before then, which should be doable since I am 166 now but whenever I seem to set a goal like that I have a gain and with being gone 3 days this week who knows what will happen. Also changed my weigh in days to Thursdays instead of Mondays, gives me a little break from the weekend in case of over indulgences, which kind of feels like cheating but since this is a journey about health this helps me not to focus so much or get down on myself so much over a "bad" weigh in.
