Saturday's Joy
"Half the joy of life is in little things taken on the run. Let us run if we must---even the sands do that- - -but keep our hearts young and our eyes open that nothing worth our while shall escape us. And everything is worth its while if we only grasp it and its significance."...Victor Cherbuliez

I have found great joy today in organizing and de-cluttering. I read ONEKIDSMOM's blog this morning and she spurred me to free myself of the stress of my muddled-mayhem! I've got a long way to go, but worked on a hallway today, the dining room, and now am tackling the living room. In so doing, I've had the wonderful pleasure of reminiscing over many cards and letters my dear sister has sent me throughout the years. Oh, how grateful I am that I saved them! Granted, there were tears as I read those letters, but also many smiles as I reflected over confidences shared.
I'm on my way!! I will continue to de-clutter, organize, and get that stress out of my life. (I've already boxed-up items for Goodwill.) In accomplishing this, I will free myself to enjoy my home and free-up my spirit to enjoy those things that really matter.
As I lighten my home's load of clutter, I know that I will lighten-up, also, attaining those goals of health and well-being!

Glad that you are doing better. Takes time. I am de-cluttering also. I save things from years gone by. I will donate also to Goodwill and others. Bless You!

I have been decluttering as well, starting with the hundreds of books I have acquired over the years. I have donated about half of them to the annual book sale that takes place in our town to benefit the library. I have a long way to go to but I feel good about being in the process.

That was the inspiration that I needed to do the same. I was cleaning out cards also one day, and found a letter from my dad. It's very valuable to me.
Organizing can help in many ways.

De-cluttering is always on my to-do list, but it seldom gets done. I must put this back on my priority list. Life does seem lighter when we unload ourselves of the unnecessary emoticon

Keep up the good work!!

Happy you have lots of memories of your sister. As I get older I seem to be "saving things" more thinking that I might need it. I need to declutter myself but am overwhelmed at all that needs attention. You have given me the lift to start on one corner of a room and go from there.

Thanks for another good blog.

I challenged myself at the beginning of the year to eliminate 500 lbs of clutter from my life. I have 55 more pounds to go. It's so freeing and my house stays neater!

Nothing like a declutter and clean through to cleanse the soul LOL.
I go hammer and tongs at it every spring.

Great post, thanks for sharing Chrys emoticon emoticon

Great blog. Thanks for sharing. That is something I need to do. I am terrible at doing this. I keep saying I am going to go through everything and get rid of it, but I have such a hard time getting started. I find myself overwhelmed by all I have to do. I did manage to go through my closet last week and I donated 3 bags of clothing to a church second-hand store. That's a start. I know I have lots more to do, though.

I am trying to declutter some myself although not getting a lot done. I think I will make a list and get serious out it come Monday.

How is your Daughter in Law? (Hope I got that right).

Hugs, Sunny

GREAT job Chrys! I always love to sit in our family room after it's been picked up and vacuumed. I feel enlivened by my clean fresh environment.
And how lovely to have mementoes from your beloved sister. What blessed wonderful memories you have.
xx Usha.

It always feels good to "purge" those things we collect but no longer need. And nothing is more comforting than a clean, tidy environment in which to focus on that joy. (Which is my middle name, coincidentally.) :-) Good work!

I've found that de-cluttering my physical life helps me to de-clutter my mental life. The two seem to go together. Congrats on your de-cluttering.
