About the popcorn yearning for me

Friday, April 01, 2011

from the comfort of a puddle of butter left in the bowl that was used for melting. How did the single popcorn come to be in that bowl, right at my fingertips? Today was the first day in weeks that I've allowed the children to eat food in my presence that I can't eat. I'm proud to say, that popcorn is still waiting for someone to save it from its solitary existence. It won't be me. Maybe in a few more weeks when I'm stronger, but not now.

Great job passing up the lonesome piece of popcorn! Every little bit of progress counts. Without the litte bits, there won't be a big bit. emoticon emoticon

OOH popcorn now there is a challenge...... Proud of you for your will power. When I first started last year I felt guilty for not having anything in the house for sweets for my DH is still a kid too, so when I did break down and get a few things I right away labeled the calorie count on the outside of the bag in big print. You would be surprised how fast after seeing that it doesn't sound so appealing and the will power is much easier to maintain....

I eat the fat free microwave popcorn, it is my guilty pleasure without all the butter.

This whole journey can be so baffling. Trying to know what our limits are. When something is okay and when it isn't. There are no bad foods, yet certain ones are just not for me. I'm trying to learn to have a little of what I love and be satisfied with that. It is a process, isn't it. I'm so glad I'm not in this alone. I proud of you for knowing where to draw the line for yourself. Have a great weekend with your family. Thanks again for the nice comments. I look forward to getting to know you and cheering you on. emoticon

Way to go!!! Resisiting temptation is the hardest. I have no problem not snacking, unless it's right in front of me. Keep up the good work!!
